Mendocino Wedding Photography

With more than three decades of experience and a skilled artist's eye, award-winning Mendocino wedding photographer Nicholas Wilson excels in capturing the highlights and the emotions of your wedding in a story-telling photo essay. His fine art scenic photography has hung in prestigious art galleries and collections, and his documentary and photojournalism work has been published in many national magazines and newspapers. He is the author of the photo book Mendocino In The Seventies and there are more books in the works.

Just Married! Captured as the happy couple leaves the historic Mendocino Presbyterian church.

Nicholas Wilson offers skilled professional photography of your wedding, anniversary event, family reunion or other special personal event. He emphasizes service rather than selling prints or other merchandise, and gives professionally optimized digital files on disk to his customers so they can have reprints and enlargements made without paying the high print prices that many other photographers require.

People especially love the digital slide show disks on CD that Nicholas provides, and they are easily copied by the customer for sharing with friends and family.

Nicholas will put your selected photos on a private website where you can see them and share with friends and family even before your prints and disks are delivered

If you wish, Nicholas will be happy to make professional grade archival enlargements for you, but it's not required if you prefer to economize.

For a really special option, Nicholas can make you a full-color wedding photo book that you'll treasure all your life. The printed, hard bound book with dust jack looks like a deluxe fine art coffee table book, but it will be filled from cover to cover with beautiful photos of you and your loved ones, and it will tell the story of one of the most special days in your life. It will become an heirloom passed down to your descendants. When you see your book, you'll want to order extra copies for family and friends, and the cost is far below the cost of traditional wedding albums. If you're on a budget, you can even let family and friends order -- and pay for -- their own copies of your wedding book. Nicholas is the author of Mendocino In The Seventies, a local best selling photo art book documenting the alternative culture and back-to-the-land movement that thrived on the Mendocino Coast during the 1970s.

Nicholas is based just 10 minutes from the historic and scenic town of Mendocino, situated on a rocky headland surrounded on three sides by the Pacific Ocean. The 19th Century towns and villages of the Mendocino Coast are roughly 150 miles north of San Francisco's Golden Gate. Nicholas serves the coastal area from Fort Bragg to Elk and inland to Comptche with no added travel fees. For more distant locations there will be a reasonable charge added for travel time and expense.

Rather than offer predetermined cookie-cutter wedding packages, Nicholas will be happy to design a package just for you that meets your particular preferences, whether it's just the two of you eloping, or you and your best friends and closest family, or a big bash with all the traditional festivities.

Please call, email or send a letter or card to ask about availability and pricing for your Mendocino wedding photography.  If you write, please include the date, time and location, how many in the wedding party, approximately how many guests and family members, whether you're having a reception and/or dinner that you want covered, and what time you expect the festivities to be over.  Once those things are known, Nicholas will be happy to design a package for you and send you a written offer of service specifying what he offers to provide and the cost and terms for the service.

Please call the toll-free number listed below during West Coast business hours, or email to request further information.

Customer Comments

Dear Nicholas,

Matt and I were blown away by the photos that you took.  The quality and composition were exquisite and we were thrilled with the results.  There are so many wonderful shots and the variety is great -- the color, B&W and the digital.  And that slide show that you put together is absolutely marvelous.  You really did choose the best ones and put them all together in an incredible way -- you've made our job so much easier in terms of selecting our favorites!  Thanks for your expertise, talent and attention to detail.  You clearly have spent a good deal of time on us and we really and truly appreciate it.

I don't know if this would be of any use to you but we would love to write a testimonial for your wonderful work.

Again, thanks so much for all that you've done to make our wedding so special and to make the memories last.

Your biggest fans,

Lori (and Matt) B.
Oakland, California

"My wife and I are Matthew's parents and last week Matt showed us the disk of the wedding photos you sent to Lori and Matt. We thought they were terrific! If you ever need a 'Letter of Reference' you can use this letter! You did a great job taking those pictures of their wedding! We hardly ever saw you taking them, except for the posed photos and when you were taking them at dinner. Congratulations again for a superior performance!"

"Brian and I would like to thank you again for your exceptional photography performance at our wedding. Your photo-journalistic skills have gracefully captured the essence of our wedding, the enjoyment of the guests, and most of all, the love between Brian and me. We would also like to thank you for taking the extra time and effort that is needed when working with clients from out of town. Your professional correspondence throughout the planning, your helpful advice, and your willingness to stay at the wedding beyond your contracted time was very much appreciated. We hope that someday we will have the opportunity to use your services again. Until then, we will recommend your name and business to our friends and family."
-- Holly L.
